Churches of Christ Overseas Aid Appeal - Haitian Earthquake
One week later the situation in Haiti continues to be beyond belief and the news overnight of a severe aftershock highlights the vulnerability of all who are there.
Churches of Christ Overseas Aid is directing your giving to Haiti through the Week of Compassion (Disciples of Christ) a part of the largest global alliance of Christian humanitarian agencies - Action by Churches Together. In the chaos of aid distribution, ACT Alliance members are managing to get food, temporary shelter, water cleaning materials and expertise to the Haitian capital.
Many are responding right now with donations via their churches or direct to GMP – www.inpartnership.org.au or 0882124446 – you can down load a donation form on line.
And together we can all pray:
O God, our refuge and strength,
we hold before you the nation and people of Haiti,
and pray for healing in the midst of tragedy and devastation.
Give comfort to the homeless, the bereaved and the suffering,
courage to survivors,
wisdom to those who seek to help,
and light to all who live in the shadow of death.
This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ,
our rock and our salvation. Amen.

Saying “YES” to Mission and Evangelism.
Do you remember the story line in Mary Poppins where the father takes his 2 children to visit the Bank and the old banker tries to assure the children that tuppence (2 cents) invested regularly and wisely in the bank will see railways in Africa, tea plantations in India and so on. Well, tuppence invested in the bank today wouldn’t see great results, but $1 a day invested in GMP can do amazing things for the spread of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ overseas, such as: pastor and leadership training, church planting, children’s homes in India, motor bikes to assist evangelists in Zimbabwe, salaries for National Evangelists, Pastors, Bible College lecturers, church growth and more. You or a group are asked to take up this challenge to become a Personal Partner for $1 a day ($360 a year). For details see Graeme Mason or visit the web site.
