We believe...

We are a church of believing christians who are affiliated with the Churches of Christ (Victorian Conference) in Australia, which is an evangelical protestant denomination. The distinctive emphases of the Churches of Christ appears below. Our beliefs can be summed up in the Apostle's Creed and the Nicean Creed

The purpose of our church is to win people to faith in Jesus Christ, baptise them, connect them actively to the church, help them grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and together with them engage in the common task of building the Kingdom of God.

It is our desire that this will be a place where you will:

  • Feel safe and welcome
  • Worship the Lord with us and experience His presence
  • Hear about the good news of what God has to offer us
  • Make life changing decisions

As Churches of Christ we emphasise...

  1. Mutual ministry of Christian believers.
  2. Congregation autonomy with a commitment to other churches of our movement through our conference structures.
  3. Simplicity and vitality in worship.
  4. >Weekly communion.
  5. Witness to, and practice of believer’s baptism by immersion.
  6. Commitment to extending the Kingdom of God and the making of disciples through a passion for sharing ‘the good news’.
  7. Working for social justice, equality and the responsible care of our environment and all of God’s creation.
  8. Being the servant church, responding to human need.
  9. Concentrating on the essentials, rather than the non-essentials of the Christian faith.
  10. Allowing for a wide diversity of Christian understanding, practices and beliefs.
  11. Recognising as Christian all who accept Jesus as Saviour and Lord and an openness to close co-operation with other Christians in worship, witness and service.
  12. Promotion of the unity of all God’s people, maintaining a passionate commitment to the ultimate goal of visible unity.
  13. Affirming the centrality of the scriptures as our authority for Christian belief and practice.

The Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting

The Nicean Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father [and the Son]. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy universal and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
